Warranty & Guarantee

Danco Decks guarantees and covers Craftsmanship (structural assembly, joinery) & integrity of the frame for 12 months. Due to the combination of damaging exposure of sun (UVB Rays), weather and the inherently less substantial strength of smaller top surface lumber pieces and other materials thus accelerating more pronounced movement and less hold-fast-ability, to the upper and exposed portions of the deck and its parts, decking, railing and stairs, etc are covered for 6 Months. 

“Acts of God” type situations that would cause the aforementioned to fail will not be covered. 

All though we are very confident in the quality of the Yellawood Brand wood products, nature produces, inherent various defects (mother natures imperfections),  that can show up relatively over time. Slight movements and changes of wood and materials is the nature of the outdoor-deck-beast. Movement is the norm and to be expected. Danco Decks does not warranty wood material (frame, posts, joist, decking, railing, spindles, etc), for minor splits, cracks, wanes, cupping, twisting, shrinkage, expansion or movement of any type. That is more so the nature exterior construction materials and beyond anyones control. We do our best for what we have to work with, but remember, A typical deck project is made from is fast growth southern pine (the economical deck norm used around the world), unlike fine cabinetry or furniture made of Brazillian hardwoods that can have extremely high costs if used instead of fast growth pine the standard and most cost effective deck building material in the U.S. or the world.

Of course some movement of southern pine is to be expected and does not affect the structural strength and integrity of the wood/piece or its connection. But, if within One year, if a piece of lumber moves grossly out of proportion and could be logically deemed as unsafe, then call us and we’ll replace it free with a nominal handyman comparable installation fee. Product / Material failure (wood, hardware, etc), are covered by Danco Decks, so you would not have to pay for the material, but would be charged for it’s installation. Wood, like all other building materials (steel bridges, skyscrapers, concrete slabs and plastics), move and that’s to be expected. It’s the nature of the universe.

Note 1: Not protecting and applying the initial stain / sealant maintenance program to your deck project within 3 months after its completion voids all warrantees and guarantees made by Danco Decks. Contracting this type of maintenance service is the responsibly of the customer to initiate and contract said service. Hopefully Danco will be selected. Thank you!

Suggested Note of Care: A number of physical factors cause the movement… Wind, water, earth, heat, cold, humidity, ultraviolet rays are a few to mention. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Your best defense against the elements is regular maintenance and protection to slow down and minimize movement and deterioration. Your cars paint job lasts longer if you wax it. The engine lasts longer if you change the oil. Miss a couple of oil changes by the tune of 10,000 miles and that neglect will cause irreversible damage. The same philosophy goes for your deck. Miss several deck surface protection treatments and you will cause irreversible damage, thus, shortening the life and performance of your deck. Though an art (application) and a little time consuming, deck maintenance is not expensive by comparison to replacement. It is relatively simple, easy, and worth it when you think about what the deck gives back to you - Usable outdoor living space that will perform, for your enjoyment with family and friends for years to come!
